You will see from this week’s notices that on Sunday evening at our parish-wide 6.30pm service in St. Peter’s Church we are launching our Week of Prayer.  There are prayer meetings scheduled across the whole parish next week – and a virtual prayer room has been set up too – so there are lots of opportunities for us all to unite in prayer and we hope you will join with us doing so.  Make sure you pick up your copy of our superb prayer diary in church on Sunday!

Request for help next week

Hello all

Please see the message below from Sam Wolstencroft who was part of the team who were helping out our vicar,  Alan,  yesterday at his house in Salford that he is getting ready to rent out again to new tenants.

“We made some good progress with 5 volunteers yesterday but there is more to do!

Thanks to those of you who said you may be able to help Alan next week. The days will be Monday and Thursday from 10am and the main jobs are listed below. If you can help please let me, Sam, know (07934 716509) and also whether you can offer lifts. We need someone to take responsibility for brews and biscuits too!  Please bring your own lunch if you’re staying over that period. And do take any products you might need…cloths, bucket, solutions, gloves, abrasives etc. If you’re an experienced glosser, please message Alan (07767 643444) directly about that!

Jobs to be done:

  • Glossing in porch
  • Removing vinyl tiles in upstairs bathroom
  • Fitted wardrobe needs cleaning
  • Emulsion the ceiling of the wardrobe
  • Tip run with carpet and wood
  • Clear out of basement
  • Jet wash the back garden flags
  • Tiles – go over them with a damp cloth in the kitchen  (these have just been freshly grouted)
  • Clearing debris and leaves in back garden

The address is 63, Cavendish Road, Salford, M7 4NQ.  Thank you.”

As you will be aware, Alan’s wife Ruth is still in hospital so please keep her in your prayers.  Therefore, any help we, as a church family, can provide to help Alan get this house straight and ready for renting will be especially appreciated at this particularly stressful time.

Thank you for your support with this.

Kind regards

Amanda
