Sundays 26 October and 2 November 2025 – St. Peter’s Newsletter

Dear Friends,

I hope you are keeping well.

Please note, as it’s half-term next week, this week’s newsletter is a double edition so there won’t be one sent out next Friday.

A quick reminder that TONIGHT at 7.30pm at Bolton Parish Church a Mission Community service is taking place and you are all invited! The theme is ‘Light in the Darkness’ with Rev Phil Cansdale speaking and there will be a joint choir, hymns, prayers and refreshments. Please do join us if you can.

This Sunday, at 10.30am in the Parish Centre we will be celebrating the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Parish Centre, following the extension and redevelopment of the Jubilee School.  Please note, there will be no 8.30am or 10.30am service in St Peter’s Church that morning. If you are unable to make the celebration service itself, we are having refreshments and cake afterwards so feel free to come and join us then – we’d love to see you.

There’s lots going on and coming up soon across the parish, so please take a moment to look at this week’s newsletter:

 Sun 26 Oct 2025 – St. Peter-s Newsletter.pdf

We hope to see you in one of our services on Sunday but, if you are unable to join us, our service in St. Peter’s Church at 6.30pm (talk only) will be live-streamed. Please note, our 10.30am celebration service in the Parish Centre isn’t being livestreamed but we will record it and upload it to our YouTube channel afterwards and you’ll be able to watch it here:

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have queries about any aspects of the life of our church. Thank you.

Dear Friends,

Further to my last email, it has been highlighted that there is a date error on the front page of the newsletter you’ve been sent, under the ‘Services’ heading. Clearly, it should read Sunday 5th October, not Sunday 28th September.  So, to avoid any confusion, I’ve attached an amended copy for you here. Apologies.

Sunday 21st September 2025 – St. Peter’s Newsletter

Dear Friends,

I hope you’ve had a really good week.

If this is of interest to you, please note that tomorrow morning from 9.30am, the Lancashire Prayer Conference is taking place at St Andrew’s (Hope Centre) on Johnson Fold (Tattersall Avenue, BL1 5TE). All welcome to join this amazing group of prayer warriors who really want to pray for our ministry here in Bolton – no need to book, just turn up.

Also, at the 10.30am service in St Peter’s Church on Sunday morning, we’ll be singing a new song which fits well with the service’s theme of mission – it’s called Vagabonds and was written by Stuart Townend.  It’s about inviting everyone into the kingdom, whoever or wherever they are.  Please have a listen before Sunday so you’re ready for it!

Sunday 14th September 2025 – St. Peter’s Newsletter

Dear Friends,

Further to my last email, I just want to clarify that due to it being the Parish weekend away at Quinta, there is one parish-wide service at 10.30am in St Peter’s Church this coming Sunday (ie. no 8.30am or 6.30pm services). Our Area Dean, Rev Simon Cook, will be preaching so if you are aren’t away at Quinta, you are most welcome to join us there so please do come along.  There are no services at Barrow Bridge Mission or Smithills Fellowship either but there is an informal one at 10.30am at St Andrew’s.

Have a lovely weekend, whatever you are doing.

Regards
