Week of Prayer…and a few other notices!

Dear Friends,

I hope you’re keeping well.

There’s no newsletter being sent out today as last week’s was the final double edition for the summer period. From next Friday, we’ll be back to our usual pattern of weekly newsletters and emails.

I’m emailing you today, however, as there a few important things I need to make you aware of, as below:

Week of Prayer

Next week, from Mon 1st – Fri 7th Sept, we are delighted to be joining in with the 24-7 Global Week of Prayer that joins 197 nations in non-stop prayer, uniting the global Church in a shared declaration of God’s greatness!  We’re hoping as many of you as possible will commit to this exciting initiative and book a slot to pray,  wherever you are, or even in-person in our dedicated Prayer Room at the Parish Centre.

Go to https://stpetersparish.info/prayer-room-booking/ to find out more and follow the link to book your prayer slot.  As mentioned, you’re also most welcome to come along and pray at the Parish Centre between 9.30am-3pm Monday to Friday; simply choose your time slot under the Prayer Room heading.  As a parish, let’s try and cover as many hours in prayer as we can next week!

During the week of prayer, we will have our parish-wide PrayerZone session in the Parish Centre on Weds 3rd Sept from 7.30pm.  All are welcome to just turn up for a dynamic hour of worship and prayer – no booking for this required!

Quinta Weekend Away
If you are going to Quinta (Fri 12th-Sun 14th Sept) and did not receive an email from the team last night, please email [email protected] ASAP. Thanks.

Can you help?

Also, as many of you are already aware, on Sunday evening Heaton House Nursery on Chorley Old Road, suffered a fire.  The fire started outside at the side of the building and spread upwards, affecting the garden, conservatory, kitchen and bathrooms.  The owner of the nursery, Lauren, also runs The Family Club – the before /after school club that we love having here in the Parish Centre and which has had their holiday club here during the summer break.

We’ve stepped in to help support Lauren as best as we can due to the nursery building being unusable – this means that the nursery is currently operating out of the Parish Centre on a temporary basis until it can move back and operate safely in the nursery building, or make alternative provision. Many different trades are doing a fantastic job being involved in the considerable repair and rebuild process that’s ongoing but Lauren still needs some support in the following areas: fencing, security gates and the building/construction of a conservatory.  If you know anyone who may be able to help with this, in the first instance please contact [email protected] . Thanks.

Also, please do pray for Lauren and her staff team as they navigate the considerable logistical challenges that they are facing at the moment, whilst trying their best to support local families with continued nursery provision.  Thank you for your support.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any queries about any of the above. Thanks.

Regards

Amanda
